West Mathias Bivouac

West Mathias Bivouac is a DOC backcountry basic two-bunk hut in the Rangitata and Rakaia Rivers area (Canterbury). It’s free to use and operated on a first come, first served basis (no bookings). Use is self-reliant: there is no DOC track access, so plan your route and navigate with map, compass, and GPS.
