Avoca Homestead

Avoca Homestead is a standard 6-bunk backcountry hut in Korowai/Torlesse Tussocklands Park (Canterbury region), run by the Department of Conservation. It was built in 1906 and extensively restored in 2007, keeping it in keeping with the original homestead; use is straightforward—no bookings are required and stays work on a first-come, first-served basis as beds become available.
