Bealby Boulders

Bealby Boulders is a granite bouldering area near Nelson, with problems reaching V6. The coarse rock is paired with generally good landings, and the problems begin at a large roadside boulder before continuing up the wooded hillside.

From the parking area, most of the boulders lie south of the road and west among the trees. Expect roughly a 10-minute approach through planted trees and mixed forest to the main concentration of problems.

Access requires particular care: many of the Bealby Road boulders are on private property. Keep the visit low-key and low-impact, and confirm that access is appropriate before climbing. The area stays shaded until around 11:00–12:00, which can make it a useful choice for warmer sessions.
