Becketts Hut

Becketts Hut is a basic four-bunk backcountry hut managed by the Department of Conservation in the Takitimu Conservation Area (Southland). Use is free and it operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no bookings required.

The hut has mattresses, a fireplace, and toilets with a pit latrine disposal system. There is no drinking water provided, so bring your own and plan accordingly for an advanced backcountry approach from nearby DOC huts such as Aparima Hut (~2 hr 15 min) or Lower Princhester Hut (~3 hr 30 min).
