Bergerie de Biccarellu

Bergerie de Biccarellu is an unstaffed former shepherd’s hut used as a free emergency shelter. It sits in the Monte Cinto area (Corsica) at about 1,485 m, and it sleeps up to 5 people on mattresses (blankets are not provided).

Access is on foot only via an unpaved, not-fully-marked path through maquis terrain. Inside, expect a dusty interior and rodent droppings; there is a table in the small kitchen area. There’s no fireplace/wood stove, and there are no latrines. Water is nearby but pastilles are recommended due to cattle presence.
