Bert Nichols Hut

Bert Nichols Hut—also known as Windy Ridge Hut—is the Overland Track’s hut at Windy Ridge in Cradle Mountain–Lake St Clair National Park. It’s a large, split-level hut with four sleeping rooms on the upper level, connected by an airlock and drying area to the dining area downstairs.

For multi-day planning on the Overland Track, Bert Nichols Hut sits at the Windy Ridge end of the day-to-day hut sequence between Kia Ora Hut and the next camps/huts along the route. Nearby walking access is commonly linked with the Du Cane Range and waterfalls in the Windy Ridge/Du Cane area.
