Dixon's Kingdom Hut

Dixon's Kingdom Hut is a historic emergency-only shelter in Tasmania’s Walls of Jerusalem National Park. It’s tied to the same bushwalking corridor as Dixons Kingdom—an overnight walkers’ hub where you’re expected to be fully self-sufficient, with the hut not set up for normal sleeping.

Use of the hut is emergency-only: you can’t plan to sleep inside it. The park is a fuel-stove-only area (no open campfires), and the broader Walls of Jerusalem overnight system uses designated campsites rather than relying on the historic hut for accommodation. Dixon's Kingdom area includes drinking water at the campsite (untreated), plus toilets; all rubbish and sanitary waste must be packed out and only deposited where toilets are provided.
