Broken River Hut

Broken River Hut is a basic four-bunk backcountry hut in Korowai/Torlesse Tussocklands Park (Canterbury region), run by the Department of Conservation. It’s free to use and works on a first-come, first-served basis with no bookings required.

Expect to self-navigate: the hut has no DOC track access. The hut includes a fireplace, mattresses, and toilets with a pit latrine setup.
