Cheviot Downs Hut
Cheviot Downs Hut is a standard six-bunk backcountry hut in the Takitimu Conservation Area (Southland). It’s run by the Department of Conservation and is set up for first-come, first-served use (no standard bookings required). The hut includes mattresses, an outhouse, and has a pit latrine; drinking water is untreated.
