Clinton Hut

Clinton Hut is a DOC Great Walk hut on the Milford Track in Fiordland National Park, located in Clinton Valley. It has 40 bunk beds with mattresses and is managed by the Department of Conservation.

Bookings are required in the Great Walks season, and the hut is one of the DOC Great Walk huts on the Milford Track (Clinton, Mintaro and Dumpling). Outside the Great Walks season, bookings aren’t required but facilities are reduced, with reduced services such as cooking setup (no gas), a switch from wash basins to pit toilets, and water turned off inside huts (water is available via an outside tank or from a nearby water course if needed).

On-site you’ll find flush toilets, a kitchen, lighting, heating, and a fireplace; water is available but is untreated. Fees apply per person, per night (with different NZ and international rates), and a conservation ranger is present in the Great Walks season. Water and freshwater-pest precautions apply around Fiordland’s waterways (for example, prevent spreading didymo).
