Crawford Junction Hut
Crawford Junction Hut is a basic six-bunk backcountry hut run by the Department of Conservation in the Kokatahi River–Whitcombe River area on the West Coast. It’s set up for first-come, first-served use (no bookings required).
The hut has untreated drinking water, a pit latrine, and a fireplace. A removed bridge between Boo Boo and Crawford Junction Hut means you’ll need to travel on the true left of the Kokatahi River between those huts; if you encounter unbridged rivers or side streams, you’ll need solid river-crossing judgment and must be prepared to turn back if conditions are unsafe.
