Creswicke Flat Hut

Creswicke Flat Hut is a Department of Conservation backcountry hut in the South Westland area, set in the Landsborough River area. It’s a basic four-bunk hut intended for hunters and trampers, and use is first come, first served with no bookings required.

Inside, the hut has mattresses and a fireplace, and it provides drinking water described as untreated. There’s also a pit latrine toilet. Fees are free, and there is no DOC track access—route-planning and navigation are on you (map, compass, and GPS), including safe river/stream crossing decisions in the field.
