Explorer Hut

Explorer Hut is a four-bunk backcountry hut used for overnight stays in the Mikonui River–Kakapotahi River area on the West Coast. It’s a basic hut; no booking is required and use is first come, first served.

Inside, you’ll find sleeping bunks, a fireplace, and drinking water described as untreated. The hut has toilets with pit latrine disposal.
