Forest Burn Shelter

Forest Burn Shelter is an emergency shelter on the Kepler Track ridge above the bushline in Fiordland National Park, New Zealand. It’s a basic, windowless shelter built for bad-weather stops rather than overnight use.

No camping or staying overnight is permitted at the shelter. When conditions are foul on the exposed alpine ridge between the Kepler Track huts, this is one of the emergency options along the route, near the avalanche-danger area on that alpine section.
