Frew Saddle Bivouac
Frew Saddle Bivouac is a basic two-bunk backcountry bivvy in the Kokatahi River–Whitcombe River area (West Coast region), run by the Department of Conservation. It’s set up for advanced/experienced parties and use is first come, first served—no bookings are required.
Beds are provided (mattress/berths), and the site includes a pit latrine. Use is free, but come prepared: there’s no drinking water at the bivouac, and there’s no fireplace.
