Fukushima Boulders

Fukushima Boulders is a compact bouldering area in ponderosa pine forest above Arrow Lake in British Columbia’s West Kootenay. The area centers on two large boulders, with the Fukushima Boulder offering big lines, positive holds, and eight recorded problems.

From the parking area, allow about 15 minutes to reach the boulders. The approach follows an old overgrown roadbed, then a marked and flagged game trail up the bank to a bench; Fukushima Boulder is just uphill from Ponderosa Boulder and lies on the way to the Range Boulders.

A shooting-range entrance is immediately to the right of the parking area. Use the established approach rather than cutting toward the range through the bush.
