Grohman Boulders
Grohman Boulders, also known as Grohman Narrows Bouldering, is a granite bouldering area near Nelson, British Columbia, beside the river and railway corridor. The fine-grained rock has textured lips, cracks, and arêtes, with 105 documented problems spanning all grades and styles.
From the four-way stop at the end of Baker Street, drive 3.5 km west on Highway 3A/6 toward Castlegar to the large gravel pullout on the right. Rock stairs lead to the signed trailhead; Cave Boulders are about two minutes in, while most other sectors are within 10 minutes. Named areas include Track, Cave, Darkside, Hippy, Plant, Prospector Ridge, Tree Fort, and Wave Boulders.
About 90% of the climbing is shaded. Spring and fall are generally the strongest seasons; June is wetter, July through September can be hot, and snow and precipitation commonly limit outdoor climbing from November through late March.
The railway tracks are private property. Stay on the established trails, avoid trespassing and unnecessary time on the tracks, and leave no waste to help protect access.
