Irthing Hut

Irthing Hut is a basic two-bunk backcountry hut run by the Department of Conservation in the Eyre Mountains/Taka Rā Haka Conservation Park (Southland region). It’s set up for unbooked use on a first-come, first-served basis and includes a fireplace, plus mattresses inside.

Use is free. The hut has pit latrine toilets and no drinking water is provided, so bring your own water treatment and supplies.
