Lake Mackenzie Lodge
Lake Mackenzie Lodge is a private lodge used as overnight accommodation for the Routeburn Track guided hike, with guest rooms ranging from single-bunk options to private rooms with ensuite bathrooms. It sits along the Routeburn Track close to the public Lake Mackenzie Hut, making it a nearby alternative if you’re specifically on a guided itinerary rather than booking the Department of Conservation hut for an independent tramp.
Access is on foot as part of the guided Routeburn Track hike (it’s reached during Day 1 of the guided walk from Queenstown along the track to Lake Mackenzie). The lodge is staffed and oriented to guided guests, with meals included as part of the operator’s package, and it uses a room/meal setup designed around scheduled arrivals and departures during the November–April guided hiking season.
