Loch Maree Hut

Loch Maree Hut is a standard 12-bunk backcountry hut in Fiordland National Park, operated by the Department of Conservation. It’s set up for first-come, first-served stays, and a Standard Hut Ticket is required for each night—use the honesty box at the hut to leave your ticket.

The hut has untreated drinking water, plus a toilet system with pit latrine disposal. The DOC page also lists fees (adult $10 per night, youth $5 per night, child/infant free) up to 30 June 2026, with updated rates beginning 1 July 2026; bookings aren’t required for Loch Maree Hut.
