Lower Salmon Creek Bivouac

Lower Salmon Creek Bivouac is a basic two-bunk hut in the Oxford Forest Conservation Area (Canterbury region), managed by the Department of Conservation. It’s set up for first-come, first-served use with two bunks (no bookings required).

The hut has a pit latrine for toilets and no drinking water is provided. Use is free, and there’s no fireplace. Times you’re planning to stay should factor in that you’ll need to bring what you need for cooking, sleeping, and water.
