Lumberjack Boulders

Lumberjack Boulders is a compact bouldering sector in the Norns/Ladybird zone of British Columbia’s West Kootenays. The boulders are reached via Norns/Ladybird FSR, with the Lumberjack area about 3.6 km from Pass Creek Road.

The area is set among distinctive rock in a shady, wilderness setting, with many problems in the V2–V6 range. The boulders are closely grouped, generally no more than about 50 m apart, and the approach takes roughly 10 minutes through a tree-planted block and mixed forest.

Morning shade makes the sector useful during warmer conditions; sun usually reaches it around noon to 1 pm, while the north side of Lumberjack Boulder remains particularly shaded. Breakfast Burger is a V5 on Chainsaw Boulder, climbing a 40-degree overhang with a dynamic move to the lip followed by a mantle.
