Makomako Hut

Makomako Hut is a backcountry hut managed by the Department of Conservation, set up for self-sufficient tramping (“tramping” in New Zealand). Use it as an overnight base in remote country, with untreated drinking water, a pit latrine for toilets, and a fireplace provided for heat and cooking.
