Merriview Hut

Merriview Hut is a small, private family hut on Merrivale Road near Merrivale. It’s a basic backcountry stop with sleeping for up to 5 people, and it’s set up for cash payment on arrival. If you’re using it as an overnight on the Te Araroa area, plan for it to be a simple place to bed down rather than a full service stop.

The hut provides drinking water and bedding (mattress), and it has no mains electricity, no showers, and no internet access. There’s also no fireplace. Rates are $10 per person to stay in a tent on-site or $15 per person to sleep in the bunks; no reservation is required—pay the hosts directly in cash when you arrive (phone is on hand for contact if you need it).
