Mt Bee Bunkrooms

Mt Bee Bunkrooms is a basic eight-bunk backcountry hut in Eyre Mountains/Taka Rā Haka Conservation Park, run by the Department of Conservation. Bookings aren’t required; use is free and it operates on a first-come, first-served basis.

Sleeping and on-site basics: it’s a bunkroom with mattresses provided, plus pit latrine toilets. There’s no fireplace provided, and drinking water is untreated.

Access is restricted: anyone needing to reach Mt Bee by foot or vehicle must seek approval from the landowner and give at least 2 days notice (Ben Walling +64 27 444 6823).
