Nolans Hut
Nolans Hut is a basic four-bunk hut in the Whataroa area on the West Coast, in the Glaciers area. It’s run by the Department of Conservation and is used as a simple backcountry overnight stop, with sleeping for 4 people at a time.
Use is free and no bookings are required—it's first come, first served. The hut has mattresses and a fireplace, plus toilets with pit latrine disposal; drinking water is not provided, so plan to bring your own supplies. It sits on stewardship land in Westland Tai Poutini National Park, and the hut is intended for advanced, expert difficulty backcountry travel.
