Olivine Hut

Olivine Hut is a six-bunk backcountry hut in Fiordland National Park, in the Hollyford Valley area, on the border between Fiordland and Mount Aspiring National Parks and the Pyke Forest Conservation Area. It’s run by the Department of Conservation and is used as a standard hut-style stop for overnight backcountry travel in Fiordland.

Use is first come, first served—no standard bookings are required—but you must secure a Standard Hut Ticket for each night. Fees run at $10 per night for adults (18+), $5 per night for youth (5–17), and free for children/infants (0–4). After arriving, place your hut ticket in the honesty box at the hut. A pit latrine is provided, with toilets disposal as pit latrine, and the hut has untreated drinking water plus a fireplace and mattresses.
