Owl River Emergency Shelter

Owl River Emergency Shelter is a basic Parks Canada emergency cabin in Auyuittuq National Park, used as an unserviced refuge rather than as standard accommodation. It’s intended for shelter from life-threatening Arctic conditions and is part of the emergency shelter spacing along Akshayuk Pass.

Use is free and no reservations are accepted. Expect rudimentary facilities (including basic outhouse service) and plan as if you will be fully self-sufficient—this shelter is for emergencies, not for planned overnighting.
