Park Morpeth Hut
Park Morpeth Hut is a standard six-bunk backcountry hut in Arthur’s Pass National Park, operated by the Department of Conservation. It runs on a first-come, first-served basis, with no Alpine bookings required, and backcountry hut passes and backcountry hut tickets can’t be used at this hut.
The hut has six bunks and drinking water is untreated. There’s a pit latrine and lights inside, but no fireplace. The NZ Mountain Radio Service has closed and the mountain radio at the hut is no longer monitored, so carry a Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) for emergency contact; also plan around changing conditions and an extended weather forecast.
