Paterson Lodge
Paterson Lodge is a backcountry lodge in Arthur’s Pass National Park used as a tramping base. The lodge has three bunk rooms and accommodates 15 bunks total, plus a common room adjoining a kitchen area that is heated by an internal enclosed fire.
Use is tied to St Margaret’s College: bookings are restricted to current college families and alumnae, and it is typically closed during autumn and winter, reopening in late September 2026 depending on conditions. Outside are four rustic long drop toilets.
