Pfeifer Bivouac

Pfeifer Bivouac is a small Department of Conservation hut in Arthur’s Pass National Park (West Coast region). It’s set up for overnight use with a basic 2-bunk setup and is intended for backcountry trips in the Hokitika area.

Use is free and bookings aren’t required; it works on a first-come, first-served basis. The hut is on a route that is no longer maintained by DOC, with sporadic maintenance by Permolat, and it has drinking water available from a stream.
