Poulter Hut

Poulter Hut is a Department of Conservation backcountry hut in Arthur’s Pass National Park (North Canterbury / Arthur’s Pass area). It’s a standard 10-bunk hut with no bookings required—use is first come, first served.

The hut has drinking water from an untreated source and toilet facilities in the form of a pit latrine. Fees apply; for stays up to 30 June 2026, it costs $10 per night for adults (18+), $5 per night for youth (5–17), and free for children/infants (0–4). A Standard Hut Ticket is required for each night of stay and should be put in the honesty box at the hut. The hut also has a fireplace.
