Refuge de Petra Pinzuta
Refuge de Petra Pinzuta is a long-abandoned stone shelter on the southern slopes of Monte Cinto in Corsica. It’s used as a free, unstaffed emergency bivy/rest point rather than a maintained, bookable mountain hut.
The shelter sits along demanding alpine routes in the Cinto/Lozzi area; plan for self-sufficiency and navigate using cairns/marks on the approach. A nearby reference route is commonly described as Monte Cinto–Lake Cinto loop via Refuge de Petra Pinzuta (hard, with around 1,000 m of ascent on the segment shown), where Petra Pinzuta functions as a key passing point on the way to Refuge de l'Ercu and the final ascent.
