Refuge de Prunicu

Refuge de Prunicu (also known as Cabane de Prunicu) is an unstaffed mountain shelter in Haute-Corse, France, used as a backcountry stop for hikers heading toward Monte Astu. Use is free and it’s a first-come, first-served shelter—there’s no reservation process for an unguarded hut.

The shelter has very basic, rustic facilities and is suitable for carrying your own supplies. Expect to pack out your trash and rely on nearby water rather than assuming the refuge is fully provisioned; a water source is listed close by, and a better option is to bring what you need for the approach and stay.
