Refuge de Tighiettu
Refuge de Tighiettu (also known as Rifugiu Tighjettu) is a GR20 backcountry refuge on Corsica, operated by Parc Naturel Régional de Corse. It’s the 4th refuge on the GR20 route going from North to South, reached after descending out of the cirque of the Solitude via the Col perdu. The refuge has 48 berths and very limited space to pitch a tent right by the refuge, since it sits on a mountain slope.
For planning, the refuge is open year-round, but it is only staffed from around May/June through September/October; exact dates are set by the operator. Overnight reservations are handled online, and you’ll need the reservation confirmation to show the warden on arrival. There’s also a river swim option about 10 minutes’ walk downhill from the refuge. For early arrivals with extra energy, you can visit the bergeries of Ballone, about 30 minutes on foot from the refuge.
