Tin Hat Hut is a wilderness backcountry hut run by PAWS Powell River Parks and Wilderness Society, positioned as the halfway hut on the Sunshine Coast Trail. It’s a fully insulated, fully winterized cabin built in 2011 with a pellet stove, and it’s set up for multi-night stays with a sleeping capacity for 10 people.
The cabin has a sleeping loft and basic facilities including an outhouse, picnic tables, and a fire pit. Access is via Old Tin Hat Road/Trail: follow the trail up from the logging-road approach until it transitions to hiking, then continue to the hut near the summit of Tin Hat Mountain.
