Waiawa Hut

Waiawa Hut is a Department of Conservation backcountry hut. It includes a fireplace and basic sleeping provisions (mattress), with pit latrine toilets and untreated drinking water available onsite.

No reservation is required. Plan to be self-sufficient beyond the onsite basics, and follow DOC guidance for Te Urewera hut removals and visitor alerts if you’re approaching this area.
