Waiotauru Hut

Waiotauru Hut is a basic four-bunk hut in Tararua Forest Park (Wellington/Kapiti region), run by the Department of Conservation. Use is free and bookings aren’t required—sleeping space is first come, first served.

The hut sits on the Waiotauru Track. Plan around a slip on the Waiotauru Track about 10 minutes along, between Fenceline Track and Snowy River Bridge; take care when crossing it.
