Weka Burnet Bivouac
Weka Burnet Bivvy is a free, basic backcountry hut in Craigieburn Forest Park (North Canterbury / Arthur’s Pass area), run by the Department of Conservation. It has two bunk spaces and uses a first-come, first-served system (no bookings).
There’s a pit latrine on site, and it’s a basic bivouac setup with no DOC track access—plan your route and navigate yourself. Access into the Wilberforce River is via the Wilberforce Canal Road; if you’re not using the riverbed, you need permission from Glenthorne Station.
