West Arm Hut
West Arm Hut is a backcountry hut in Fiordland National Park, operated by the Department of Conservation. It’s a basic six-bunk hut in the Doubtful Sound/Patea area, with no booking required—stays are first come, first served.
Bring a hut ticket: a Standard Hut Ticket is required for each night’s stay (adult and youth ticket types are sold separately, and the honesty-box process applies). Fees are listed for nights up to 30 June 2026, and rates change from 1 July 2026. Drinking water is untreated, and there’s a pit latrine. No fireplace is provided.
