Worsley Bivouac
Worsley Bivouac is a four-bunk hut in Arthur’s Pass National Park, operated by the Department of Conservation. Use is free and no bookings are required; it’s first come, first served (4 bunk beds).
It has no track access, so you’ll need to plan your route and navigate yourself. The hut is set up as a lean-to with toilets (pit latrine), and there’s no drinking water and no fireplace—cross rivers/streams only when conditions are safe.
