Worsley Hut
Worsley Hut is a standard 12-bunk backcountry hut in Fiordland National Park, run by the Department of Conservation. It’s set up for self-use: no bookings are required and stays are first come, first served, with hut tickets placed in the honesty box for each night you use the hut.
Use it with a basic backcountry kit. The hut has a fireplace, mattresses, and toilets (pit latrine) and provides untreated drinking water. Access is via boat from the northern end of Lake Te Anau. Fees are charged: $10 per night for adults (18+), $5 per night for youth (5–17), and free for children/infants (0–4). From 1 July 2026, updated rates apply.
