Dag 03: Trek from Dharapani

Trek from Dharapani to Chame (2,670m / 8,759ft), Distance: ~15 km and Duration: 5 hours. In the morning, you’ll get to enjoy the clear views of Mt. Manaslu, Annapurna II, Lamjung Himal, and the Marshyangdi River far below. You’ll walk around 15 to 16 kilometers through thick forests and waterfalls. After breakfast, you’ll hike through quiet villages like Thonche, Bagarchhap, and Danakyu, where farmers farm in barley fields and children play around. The trail gets steeper as it passes Timang village and enters the dense Lamatro jungle before reaching Thanchok, a peaceful Buddhist settlement. The scenery changes completely as thick green forests give way to rocky slopes near Koto village. Trekkers stop here for tea and rest before the final walk to Chame, the biggest town on the whole circuit.

Day 04: Trek from Chame

Trek from Chame to Pisang (3,300m / 10,827ft), Distance: 15 km and Duration: 5 hours You’ll have breakfast and pass the smooth slate cliffs of Pauganda Danda and reaches Barthang village in about an hour. Barthang has Nepal's largest apple orchard with roughly 67,000 trees covering the hillsides. Local families serve you fresh apple pie, crumble, strudel, and homemade cider that provides welcome refreshment during the trek. The route continues over Swargadwari Bridge into the valley near Dukure Pokhari. Towering rock faces can be seen directly from the lush valley floor, creating impressive scenery. The trail remains relatively more straightforward until you reach Pisang village, divided into Lower and Upper sections. Lower Pisang offers excellent views of Pisang Peak and the Annapurna range from the main trail. A moderate 30 to 40-minute climb leads to Upper Pisang, where the mountain panoramas become even more remarkable.

Day 06: Hike to Manang

Hike to Manang (3,540m / 11,614ft), Distance: 8 - 10 km and Duration: 4 - 5 hours. Starting from Ngawal, you follow a descending trail toward Manang, passing through Julu and Humde. The route crosses several mani walls and small bridges, with views opening across the valley. As you reach Braga, the terrain turns more rugged. Here, you can explore the ancient Braga Monastery and nearby Bodzo Gompa, both reflecting strong Tibetan Buddhist traditions. Continuing onward, the trail leads directly to Manang, the largest settlement in the region. Surrounded by peaks like Annapurna, Gangapurna, and Tilicho Peak, the village serves as an important stop for acclimatization. From here, trekkers have the option to hike up to Gangapurna Lake for better altitude adjustment before continuing the journey.

Day 07: Acclimatization in Manang

Acclimatization in Manang (3,540m / 11,614ft), Distance: 3-4 km and Duration: 2-3 hours. After days of walking uphill, Manang village is a perfect place to rest your tired legs. This rest day helps your body get used to the thin mountain air before you keep going.Manang has something for everyone, whether you want to relax or look around. A short walk to Gangapurna Lake takes you to a pretty blue lake made from melted ice. You can sit quietly and watch pieces of ice floating in the cold water. You can also walk up to Milarepa Cave, where a well-known Buddhist monk once lived alone for years to pray and think. This walk gives trekkers great views of the valley and shows them old spiritual places. The best part of Manang is walking through its narrow stone paths past houses with flat roofs stacked with wood for fires. At night, you'll have warm soup and go to bed early to get ready for tomorrow's hard climb.

Day 08: Trek to Yak Kharka

Day 08:Trek to Yak Kharka (4,050m / 13,287ft), Distance: 11 km and Duration: 3-4 hours Today you’ll have a more leisurely walk along peaceful mountain paths after leaving Manang's cozy stone houses behind. The massive Annapurna peaks stay close to you throughout the hike. The trail passes through tiny Tengi village, where only a few families live year-round. Then the green grass slowly disappears as the land gets drier near Gunsang. The clear Marshyangdi River sparkles alongside the path while Chulu West and Chulu East mountains stand in the distance. As you’ll have to walk around 11 kilometers, make sure that you walk slowly and drink plenty of water to be hydrated throughout the day. A solid wooden bridge crosses a rushing stream before the trail reaches Yak Kharka, where the animals graze on mountain grass.

Day 09: Trek to Thorong Phedi

Trek to Thorong Phedi (4,450m / 14,600ft), Distance: 8 km and Duration: 3-4 hours. Today you'll have the shortest walk of the whole trip, going from Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi base camp. A steady uphill walk next to Kone Khola stream takes you to Ledar village in about an hour, where police check your trekking papers again. The path passes through tiny tea houses at Deurali and a new metal bridge over the rushing Jarsang Khola river. Thorong Phedi sits like a small outpost where trekkers gather before tomorrow's massive mountain crossing. This short hike takes only 4 hours, but the thin air makes every step feel more complicated than usual. Trekkers need to watch out for loose rocks in narrow sections where landslides can block the trail sometimes. Some trekkers choose to climb higher to Thorong High Camp, which is located 300 to 400 meters above the main base. This extra 1 to 1.5-hour hike makes tomorrow's pass crossing much shorter and easier to handle.

Day 10: Trek to Muktinath

Day 10:Trek to Muktinath over Thorong La Pass (5,416m / 17,769ft), Distance: 16.5 km, Duration: 7-8 hours. The biggest day of the whole trek starts at 4:30 in the morning to beat the freezing winds that blow later. On this day, you’ll have to walk through steep rocky slopes covered with snow and thin mountain air. Going slow with plenty of rest stops and lots of water keeps your body moving up the mountain. After 1 to 2 hours of hard climbing, the trail opens up at High Camp. Here’s where you’ll get to enjoy incredible views of Thorung Peak, Khatungkang, and Yakawa Kang towering overhead. Zigzag paths can make this climb feel endless. But after 3 to 4 hours of walking, you’ll reach Thorong La Pass at 5,416 meters high. Colorful prayer flags snap in the wind around stone shrines that mark this famous crossing point. The full Annapurna range spreads out like a giant wall of ice and rock, with the Great Barrier Ridge stretching endlessly into the distance. This moment makes all the pain and exhaustion disappear as you snap photos and celebrate your mountain victory. Then, you’ll get down to the Thorung Khola valley past Chambar Bhir with amazing views into the Kali Gandaki Valley. Dhaulagiri, the world's seventh-tallest mountain, dominates the southern horizon like a massive white pyramid. The day ends at the sacred Muktinath Temple, where Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims light candles and spin prayer wheels. After this mountain crossing, you’ll get to sleep in simple guesthouses surrounding this holy place.
