Boyle Base Hut
Boyle Base Hut is a backcountry hut in The Poplars Conservation Area (Canterbury), run by Forest & Bird New Zealand and used by volunteers working on trapping and biodiversity projects. It has 12 bunks and is equipped with heating plus mattresses and toilets, with a closed fire setup available (wood stove and gas stove).
The hut is associated with the former NZ Forest Service base at Boyle, dating back to the Lewis Pass region base-hut days; it’s now operated by Forest & Bird and used for conservation work in the area.
