Christopher (Ada) Cullers Hut

Christopher (Ada) Cullers Hut is a basic four-bunk backcountry hut in the St James Conservation Area, operated by the Department of Conservation. It’s set up for self-contained hut use with pit latrine toilets, and drinking water is not provided—plan to carry your own.

Use is free and no booking is required; it operates on a first-come, first-served basis. DOC runs fee-free tracks access to the hut, with a typical hut track duration of about 5 days (easy) depending on your route and pace.
