Carlyle Hut

Carlyle Hut is a basic eight-bunk hut in Lake Sumner Forest Park (Canterbury) run by the Department of Conservation. Use is free and bookings are not required—accommodation is first come, first served.

Access is via Carlyle Stream, with permission needed from Glenhope Station for access from the Hope Bridge to Carlyle Stream. Facilities include toilets (pit latrine) and a fireplace; the hut provides mattresses, and dogs are not allowed.
