Christopher Hut

Christopher Hut is a serviced DOC backcountry hut in the St James Conservation Area (Canterbury). The hut has 14 bunks and bookings are required for stays; if no availability shows online for your dates, it’s fully booked and spaces aren’t held for arrivals without a booking. Firewood is supplied, but it can run out—if that happens, use dead wood from surrounding forests and don’t fell or break live trees.
