Camp Creek Hut
Camp Creek Hut is a Department of Conservation backcountry hut in the Ahaura River and Lake Brunner catchments area on the West Coast. It’s a basic hut with six bunks, and use is free on a first-come, first-served basis—no bookings are required.
The hut is about 3 km from the start of Camp Creek Route, and the route includes stream crossings and hazardous fall heights, so experienced backcountry tramping skills are expected. The hut has sleeping bedding (mattress), a fireplace, and toilets (pit latrine). Drinking water is untreated.
