Jim's Flat Hut

Jim's Flat Hut is a Department of Conservation backcountry hut in the Ahaura River and Lake Brunner catchments area on the West Coast. It’s a basic four-bunk hut, set up for first-come, first-served use with no bookings required.

The hut has four bunks and includes untreated drinking water, a fireplace, and toilet facilities with a pit latrine disposal. Access is via an easy level 4WD gravel road: turn off the Ahaura - Kopara Road at the Jim's Flat turnoff and follow the gravel road to reach the hut.
