Jacko Flat Hut

Jacko Flat Hut is a free, basic six-bunk backcountry hut run by the Department of Conservation in the West Coast region, in the Ahaura River and Lake Brunner catchments area. No bookings are required; it’s first come, first served for the six beds.

Inside, there’s a fireplace, mattresses, and toilets using a pit latrine. Drinking water isn’t provided, so plan to bring enough for your stay and for any use on the way in.
